Missions Ministry
Part of our church's outreach is to bring the Word of God to all People, young and old, in any walk of life, in any way they can be reached. Each week 12% of the tithes are designated for missions. Each quarter we support Manhattan Christian College, King Solomon Camp, Good News to Mexico - Pecos and Lynda Inchaustegui; Gail Burns in Cumbria. England; Sandy and Barb Sandell in Thailand; Korea Christian Gospel Mission, Yoon Kwon Chae; Fellowship of Christian Atheletes, Kevin Wade working for eastern Kansas; The Pregnancy Center in Salina, Ks.; Cookson Hills Childrens Home; Shiloh Children's Ranch; IDES; Samaratins Purse; and KJIL Radio Station, Abilene.
Not only are we helping these missions, we also are available to help missions at home, in our church family and community. Our ministry team meets on the third Thursday each month. Our policy, and philosophy, is that items presented to us for consideration are usually not approved at the first meeting but prayed about and considered and voted on at the next meeting. Emergencies are different and always prayed about and considered promptly. Our team consists of Teresa Terpening, Vicki Wade, Gary and Betty Liby, Brad and Joyce Steffan, Carla Billingsly, Sheryl Davidson, and Deb Bolton. Anyone interested in joining our team, or being part of a meeting are always welcome.
